The Distributed interactive simulation (DIS) component represents an important set of features; however, it is unknown if it is used in a browser context. There are already other browser-based technologies that perform much of the same functionality, namely WebRTC.
The non-abstract nodes are included here for reference, not because they are required. If they are included in the specification, then the entire set (as a single entity) is optional.
